2012 Season

2012 Season

Purely Pensive Productions are delighted to announce our 2012 season:

Two Weeks with the Queen

An adaptation of Morris Gleitzman’s novel by Mary Morris

Two Weeks with the Queen journals a young Australian teen’s struggle with his sick brother who is suffering cancer. When sent to stay with his relatives in England, Colin takes it upon himself to find the best possible care for his brother: the Queen’s doctor.

During the rollercoaster journey, Colin not only grows up but begins to help patients he meets at the London hospital including a young man with AIDS. This is an exceptional, heart warming story that reminds and refreshes us with the innocence of youth and ideals of helping others. It is filled with the perfect amount of drama and humour.

Two Weeks with the Queen will be performed at the Mechanics Institute Performing Arts Centre, 26-28 April 2012.

Blackrock

By Nick Enright

 Director: Jeremy Ives

Blackrock is based on a shocking true story of the murder of Newcastle teenager at a party one summer evening. Presumably at such a huge party, there would be plenty of witnesses, but none come forward. The story charts the journey of Jared who must choose between doing the right thing and the loyalty of his mates.

Blackrock will be performed at the Mechanics Institute Performing Arts Centre, 25-27 October, 2012.
