SYNOPSIS
Inspired by the enthralling history of women’s rights, The Female Afflictions focuses on the complexity of the female sex, through the story of one family.
Meet Betty, no longer young who through her frustrating illness yearns for her happy past.
Meet Alex her granddaughter, young and insecure, unable to see her own beauty.
Meet Alex’s mother Juliette, who struggles with her identity as a woman who faces a hysterectomy.
Meet Chris, the husband, son-in-law and father who must learn to accept the troubles of the women in his life.
The Female Afflictions shows the vast differences between these women of different generations, who are all united by their individual afflictions.
